Are you looking for a highly engaging and knowledgeable Open Innovation expert who has real-world global experience?

Larry Huston, the former Innovation Officer for Procter & Gamble is now the Managing Director of 4iNNO - a leading consultancy on Open Innovation that creates $1 billion+ growth platforms for client companies. Larry has created a new model of innovation that is being adopted by hundreds of companies throughout the world. In the popular press, this model is referred to as Open Innovation. At Procter & Gamble, where Larry created this revolution, it is called Connect + Develop.

Larry Huston is a recognized thought leader in Open Innovation. His Connect + Develop approach has been commented on extensively by the business press, in the Harvard Business Review, CNBC, hundreds of magazine articles, and books such as Mavericks at Work and Wikinomics. As a result, Larry is in high demand - both as a consultant and as a speaker.

He is assisting CEO’s to Reinvent Growth through Innovation and now has assisted over 100 Companies from the US, Europe and Asia to adopt this new model that he created.

Speaking Engagements

In addition to being a trusted advisor to many leaders of Fortune 50 companies, Larry Huston is also an accomplished international keynote speaker.

Larry’s performances are fast-paced, visual presentations with multiple examples of relevant material. His Q&A segments are especially valuable as he has practical, global R&D experience - as he was immersed in the branding culture at Procter & Gamble for many years. He responds from a “been there, done that” perspective. Larry is consistantly ranked as one of the top speakers at a conference where multiple speakers present - often times ranked number one.

Larry’s material is fresh, relevant and cutting edge. His speaking engagements have included the Fortune CEO event (where he ranked #1), American Marketing Association keynote, the World Profitability Forum in Sao Paulo, Brazil and the CSC (Computer Sciences Corporation) Executive Exchange.

As a Wharton fellow, he has been featured on a podcast on the “Sweet Spot”. In 2007, it was named the “Podcast of the year” for Knowledge @ Wharton and has been downloaded over a quarter of a million times.

Connect + Develop

Connect + Develop is one of the strategies that led to turbocharging P&G’s innovation results. This idea expanded P&G’s organization to include 1.5 million people external to the Company and moved the culture from “Not Invented Here” to a culture that celebrates innovations.

As a result, P&G increased innovation productivity 60%, new innovation success rates now exceed 75%, and P&G stock price increased 150%.

Connect + Develop resulted in over 400 product innovations in market, generating billions in new top line sales. In 2004, P&G was ranked by Fortune as the number one global innovator, and by Forbes as the number one brand Company and is consistently in the top rankings for Innovation, which has become a clear competitive advantage.

Background

Prior to creating and leading P&G’s Connect + Develop strategy, Larry held a number of positions in the innovation area including New Brand Development and Development of Global Innovation Infrastructures in India, China, Japan and Europe.

Larry is a Wharton Fellow and teaches innovation at Wharton's Mack Center for Technological Innovation at the University of Pennsylvania - where he has twice received the Wharton School Industry Leader Award.
